Dayton, OH Geothermal Heating and Cooling Services by Home Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.
We live in an era of rising energy costs, and the development of various "green" technologies that have sought to make our homes more and more efficient. It’s not without good reason, therefore, that many homeowners are seeking out ways of improving their energy efficiency in order to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and to reduce their energy bills during the most expensive times of the year. At Home Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., we offer a wide range of energy efficient heating systems, including geothermal technology. We install, repair, replace and maintain geothermal heating and cooling systems throughout the Dayton, OH area.
Geothermal systems work much like conventional heat pumps, but use the moderate temperature of the earth below your feet to absorb and dissipate heat rather than that of the air outside. This results in a drastic reduction in the amount of energy required to heat and cool your home; this reduction of your energy consumption ensures that the system will save you money in the long run. Whether you need a new geothermal system installed or you are eager to have your geothermal system fixed, we can make sure that it’s taken care of properly. Our trained and certified technicians are ready to get started on your geothermal heating and cooling service.
Home Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. offers quality geothermal heating and cooling systems and services in Dayton, OH and the surrounding areas.
What is a Geothermal System?
As its name suggests, geothermal systems rely on heat ("thermal") from the earth ("geo"). However, this energy does not come from the core, but rather from solar energy that has been deposited there. Unlike the surface temperature, which fluctuates drastically depending on the season, the ground just several feet below the surface remains more or less moderate year–round. It is this source of energy that the geothermal system taps into.
A geothermal heating and cooling system works in all other respects much like an ordinary heat pump that is capable of heating the home during the winter and cooling it during the summer. An antifreeze solution circulates through piping underground to absorb and dissipate thermal energy, and this ultimately connects to a conventional indoor air handler along with air ducts installed throughout the home.
The Importance of Geothermal System Installation
As you can well imagine, it’s incredibly important that your geothermal heating and cooling system be installed by a professional. The key to this entire process begins with the selection of components. Not only do the conventional components have to match the size of your living space to ensure efficient operation, but so does the arrangement and length of the piping underground. The installation process obviously involves some excavation, and you’ll want to make sure that your geothermal system works well for years to come. Our HVAC technicians can make sure that it does. We not only install new systems, but also repair and maintain them.
